However the Israeli federation (IFA) foresaw serious security issues prompting a last-minute relocation, leaving the EFVL scrambling for an alternative venue. In a display of unity and sporting camaraderie, the Portuguese National Federation of Footvolley (FNFV) swiftly stepped in to ensure that the championship would go on at the same dates of 28 and 29 October.
